“Gratis culture”, an anthem signed by Smaïl Yelles
A text about gratis culture, written by Naji Naaman, is now an anthem signed by the Algerian compositor and singer Smaïl Yelles. The said anthem, recorded in Algeria by Hazer Bach Ibrahim, will be diffused for the first time within the thirty forth “Wednesday Meeting” on February 19.

A Meeting was held about «Waja’ul-‘Ubur ilan-Nassil-Akhar» written by Yussuf ‘Eid and published by Maison Naaman pour la Culture. The event took place at the Mouvement Culturel – Antélias within its thirty three edition. Speeches were given by: ‘Abdul-Fattah Az-Zayn, Adib Seif (on behalf of Rabi’a Abi Fadhel), Na’oum Khalife and the author.

Riad Hallaq’s «Hissadus-Sinine»
At the invitation of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese in Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Notre-Dame University and Maison Naaman pour la Culture, a meeting was held about «Hissadus-Sinine» written by RiadAbdullah Hallak. Speeches were given by: Suhayl Matar, ‘Issam Karam, Ghaleb Ghanem, Michel Ki’di, Monsignor George Saliba and the author. The ceremony was presented by the poet Elias Khalil. Two honorific certificates were presented to Hallak by Suhayl Matar on behalf of the NDU and by Naji Naaman on behalf of the MNAC and the FGC.

Suhayl Ibrahim ‘Issawi, Palestinian writer, offered Mr. Naaman a painting made by the Ukrainian Vita Tanel. The painting shows Mr. Naaman sowing culture all over the world!

Tribute to Naji Naaman
At the invitation of Jbeil (Byblos) Cultural Council and the Cultural Movement – Antélias, a tribute was given to Mr. Naaman for his sixty year anniversary and his sixty book “Al-‘Adda’” at the Rahbani brothers theatre. Speeches were given and poems were recited by poet Élias Khalil, attorney-at-law Georges Baroud (for the Cultural Movement), ambassador and poet Zafer Al-Hassan, professor and critic Elham Kallab Al-Bsat, poet and writer Antoine Raad (for the Cultural Council), writer Georges Mghamés, professor and poet Émile Kaba, professor and poet Yussuf Eid; then Mr. Naaman thanked the intervening parties and the audience (some 300 people). A reception took place, and 2000 books of 25 titles were distributed gratis.

In a meeting held at the Cultural Movement – Antélias, two new books of Georges Mghamés, «Ayyam fi Bilad Al-Matrouchka» and «Fals Al-‘Awda ila Biladil-Ghibta» (the last one being edited by MNAC), were signed by the author. Speeches were given by Yussuf Eid, Rabi’a Abi Fadhel (Adib Seif took his place), Maha Al-Khouri Nassar and Georges Chakkour. «Naji Naaman’s literary prizes 2013» yearbook: The best anthology in the world!
Chongqing City – China: IPTRC (The International Poetry Translation and Research Centre), «The World Poets Quarterly» journal and the editorial department of «The Chinese Poetry International» granted Naji Naaman and the «Naji Naaman’s literary prizes 2013» yearbook, published by MNAC and FGG, the international best selections of poems prize for the year 2013, the certificate being signed by Dr. Arthur Zhang, president of IPTRC.

Yvan Courtois, French poet, pianist and globe-trotter, Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2009) and Honorary Ambassador for gratis culture (FGC) since 2011, is on the cover of the Chinese magazine «The World Poets Quarterly» published by the care of Zhang Zhi, another laureate of the Naaman prize (2011) and… another Ambassador for gratis culture (FGC, 2011).

The anthology in Icelandic published in Reykjavik by Thór Stefánsson, Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2014) and Ambassador for Gratis Culture (FGC), comprises chosen texts of Naji Naaman. It is the 42nd version of this selection, the 41st being into the Algerian dialect one done by Abdul-Qader Mass’oud Kachida.

«Cultural tourism» for the Saint-Paul Secondary School pupils
The Secondary School pupils of Saint-Paul College (Faytroun), guided by Father Georges Yaghi, visited the premises of MNAC and FCG for a «cultural tourism» program. They listened to Naji Naaman talking about stages to be followed in order to make books, before taking a tour in the Library of Series and Complete Works, as well as in Mitri and Angélique Naaman’s Commemorative Room. In addition, all students received gratis books for their own home libraries!

Francis Al-Haddad signs «Tarikhul-Usaril-Foutouhiyya»
Francis Al-Haddad, published by Maison Naaman pour la Culture, signed his book entitled «Tarikhul-Usaril-Foutouhiyya» at the auditorium of the Antonine Sisters School in Ghazir.
